Riverside Court Location
The town centre's medieval street pattern has changed very little over the centuries and there are buildings of historic interest everywhere. These include the thirteenth-century church and the 'Biggin', a house with fourteenth-century origins. There has been a market in Hitchin for about 500 years. Today, there are shops of every kind, yet Hitchin has successfully maintained its market town atmosphere whilst integrating some of the larger chain stores and modern amenities.
Hitchin is close to the larger centres of Luton and Stevenage, and is linked by the A505 to both the A1M and M1. Trains to London Kings Cross take about 40 minutes on average, making Hitchin an ideal town for city commuters.
Hitchin is about three miles from the A1(M) and about ten miles from the M1, giving easy access to London, Stevenage, Peterborough and Cambridge.
